Bio

Honoured as a BAFTA Breakthrough Brit in October 2014, Tandis Jenhudson is a composer, musician and producer whose work encompasses that of film, television, theatre and songwriting across many genres.

The London-born self-taught composer followed a rather unorthodox path into the world of music. While finishing his PhD in medicine at UCL, it was a chance encounter that led to him scoring his first film.

Jenhudson first stepped onto the scene of film music composition when he scored Jean-Philippe Tremblay’s acclaimed feature, Shadows of Liberty (2012). He went on to score John Akomfrah’s 2014 BAFTA-nominated ‘The March’, recounting the events leading up to the historic march that culminated in Martin Luther King’s famous “I have a Dream” speech. Most recently, in 2014, Jenhudson has completed scoring a National Geographic documentary in collaboration with BAFTA-nominated filmmaker Christopher Riley. Tandis has also just completed the soundtrack for ‘The Treehouse’ a dark fantasy drama by frequent collaborator Amy Coop. Furthermore, Jenhudson scored the 2014 feature documentary, Little Stars of Bethlehem, narrated by Stephen Fry, which was selected for the Breakthrough Strand of London UK Film Focus.

In 2016 he scored The Traffickers, an 8-part TV series produced for Fusion Network by Lightbox in which Investigative journalist Nelufar Hedayat travels the globe exploring the illegal trafficking of goods from rhino horn and guns, through to fake pharmaceuticals and even children.

His projects for 2017 included the upcoming landmark BBC series Civilisations (presented by Simon Schama, Mary Beard and David Olusoga and produced by Nutopia) and the BBC feature documentary Stalkers produced by Wild Pictures. He also scored Food Wars, a TV series for Fusion Network/Netflix (USA) produced by Lightbox, a production company founded by Simon Chinn (two-time Academy Award winner for Man on Wire and Searching for Sugar Man) and Jonathan Chinn.

In 2018, Tandis Jenhudson wrote an original score for BAFTA and Grierson Trust award-winning filmmaker James Newton’s feature-length documentary Cajun Navy, which provides intimate access to the lives of heroic men and women operating under the Cajun Navy banner, which formed as a grass-roots rescue effort in response to Hurricane Katrina in 2005, on the frontlines during Hurricane Florence and Hurricane Michael.

He is published by EatonMusic/MusicSales, home to Philip Glass, Ludovico Einaudi, Alberto Iglesias and Michael Nyman.
